Our Top 10 Favourite Gingers – Famous Redheads We LOVE

Our Top 10 Favourite Gingers

Undeniably the most highly persecuted when it comes to hair colour, gingers and redheads have been the focus of harsh nick-names and strange prejudices for centuries.

But gingers are a resilient bunch, always managing to persevere through these unfortunate hardships and most of the time, winning our hearts.

Though many attempt to hide their true red-haired identity, particularly through those pesky teenage years, being proud of their ginger roots (pun intended) is one of the key qualities of a successful ginger. So we’ve put together a list of our top 10 favourite gingers:

1. Ed Sheeran

Perhaps the most famous ginger in the world right now, Ed rose to fame in 2012 with the release of his single The A Team. Since then, he has gone on to release three critically acclaimed, highly successful albums with his latest, ‘Divide’ topping the charts globally. With Divide, Ed broke streaming records and became the most streamed artist within the first 24 hours of release on Spotify. He also broke UK chart records with 9 of his songs from Divide being featured in the top 10 charts in the UK.

2. Emma Stone

Currently one of the biggest actresses in the world, Emma Stone’s career began as a teenager when she convinced her parents to move to L.A and pursue a career in acting, all with a persuasive PowerPoint presentation entitled ‘Project Hollywood’. Her first real break came with Superbad, a teen comedy starring Jonah Hill, since then she has starred in countless other major films such as The Amazing Spider-Man and The Help, and most recently, of course, in La La Land alongside Ryan Gosling. Her latest Best Actress win at the 2017 Oscars only goes to show that if you persevere and persist, you can achieve even the craziest of childhood dreams!

3. Prince Harry

Our proud ginger royal, Prince Harry would have to be one of the most well-known gingers world-wide, staying firmly in the spotlight since he was just a young boy. With his signature ginger locks and cheeky smile, Prince Harry has captured the hearts of millions, showing that even royalty can be proud gingers.

4. Nicole Kidman

Australia’s most well-known ginger Nicole Kidman has been repping her ginger locks in Hollywood for quite some time. Rising to fame in 1989 with the movie Dead Calm, Nicole has gone on to star in and produce many countless films. But for most, it was Nicole’s jaw-dropping red locks in her Moulin Rouge showstopper that cemented her in our hearts as one of Australia’s (and indeed the globe’s) most incredible gingers.

5. Julianne Moore

The gorgeous copper-haired Julianne Moore is an incredibly successful actress and another great example of red-headed beauty throughout the decades. Rising to stardom in 1997, Julianne has starred in many huge Hollywood films. In 2015 she won her first Oscar for best actress in a leading role, solidifying her stature as one of the most talented leading ladies in Hollywood.

6. Rupert Grint

Known of course for his role as Ron Weasley in Harry Potter, Rupert Grint is one of the first names to spring to mind when it comes to famous gingers of Hollywood. The Weasleys are a family of proud gingers, mirroring Rupert’s own real-life family of proud coppertops. Rupert’s portrayal of Ron Weasley lasted for over 10 years and spanned 7 movies, making him one of the most recognisable gingers to Harry Potter lovers everywhere.

7. Debra Messing

Debra Messing is proof that gingers get better with age, with many of her fans revealing she is just as flawless now as she was when she started Will and Grace, the TV show that shot her to stardom in 1998. Debra’s ginger locks quickly became her trademark.

8. Isla Fisher

Another red-head from down under, Isla Fisher is one of the most successful ginger-haired actresses, and not just in Australia. Starting out on Home and Away, Isla has gone on to star in many films. Although this proud red-head often gets confused for another notable ginger actress, Amy Adams, we like to think both these feisty gingers are fabulous in their own rights.

An instantly recognisable name, with an almost cult-like following and an extremely lengthy resume, Chuck Norris begin his career with a stint in the Air Force before moving on to run several martial arts schools and teaching the likes of Steve McQueen, Priscilla Presley and The Osmonds.
